Hey people. Trying to get more time to get the updates going...

We've been writing new songs. Almost enough now for a new album. Sadly, Joe Baiza broke his thumb recently and can't play for a little while, so we have to take a break so he can heal up. As far as playing live, we took some time off so we could focus on writing the new material, and it's helped us. Right now, our only show coming up is in San Francisco at a venue called the Hemlock Tavern on November 12th. We played there once before and it was a good time, so hopefully that experience will repeat itself.

Also, we now have our own place on myspace.com. I didn't think much of it all this time, but people were constantly telling me to put up a profile. So I got around to doing that finally. If you want to check it out, click here. Found out some other guy already had a pretty solid Saccharine Trust profile up, so I'll try to make ours as different as I can. Found out Bobby Ho had his profile up too. Check him out.

Keep your eyes peeled, I have some cool stuff that I'm working on adding to the site soon. Sounds like hype, but it's not.

GodDAMN!!

After over a year of bullshit, I'm just able to start doing updates on the site again. I used to use fascist Frontpage to run the show, but in typical Microsoft fashion, there was some corruption issues. Despite the updates I had, they were unable to follow over to the web host. In the meantime, my friend Brett Piatt (who is responsible for the first incarnation of the site) was able to salvage the site by dumping it all into Dreamweaver. He has been doing small updates from his computer in the meantime. These updates primarily consisted of gigs, not much else.

So hopefully things will turn around here. I realize these days a website is such a vital link to current activity, and when updates are spare to none, things look grim at best. So for all you folks who have been emailing us and wondering what's up, this is what's up. Keep an eye out for updates and more content in the near future as I will be back at work here.

SACCHARINE TRUST TO HIT THE UK!

Good day folks. Yeah, it's been awhile since the last post, not for any particular reason, but...

Anyways, we have been active. We did some more gigs: Spaceland in Silverlake, the Village Lounge in Palm Springs, the Old Towne Pub in Pasadena, and most recently, a reunion of sorts with Mr. T's Bowl in Highland Park, where we set up on the floor and played across the room sideways. I guess the stage is off limits for now, but who cares, it was nice to be back at T's!

In regards to the headline, we will be heading over to England for a couple (or more) gigs. The one that started this is the notorious All Tomorrows Parties festival, which will be held in the town of Sussex Sonic Youth tapped us for the day that they are hosting (April 3rd), but we also landed a gig at The Spitz on April 1st. Any additional gigs will obviously be posted.

stay tuned...

Hey folks. Just another update alert. More new pics in the galleries. We played the Taix Lounge a couple weeks ago w/ the Sherpas, and it was leaning heavily on the fun side. Right after the Lakers game (they won) but just before our set, Jack pointed out the emergency exit to what looked like a suspicious dinner crowd, but it turned out to be ok and no one used the exit until after our set. My (Chris) bass broke though, and only my bridge pickup was working, that's why I had the "Jaco" tone blaring out like that.  The bass is going to get re-wired all together, which is another story. (The set list for this gig  is posted here).  The Sherpas smoked! Everyone who likes seriously swinging, grooving, horn enhanced jazzofunked stuff needs to go see them, period. Some good  French grub was dished out as well! Check back soon to check for an early January gig posting.

Also, there is a new section in
miscellaneous which showcases all the material we've played over the last 7 or so years. All the little stuff will probably find it's home in this section as time goes on. If anyone has anything to contribute to the site, please let us know. Even if you want to write a review on on show, etc...

OUT!

11.22.03

So, some people have emailed us over the last few years asking what songs we've been playing at the gigs. So for those of you who live too far to come see us play live, there is a new section on the site where we will post the set lists. Of course, we would love for you all to send us any and all set lists if you have grabbed one from any time over the years (1980-present) for the archival quality of the whole matter. Even better if you know the when and where's of it.  So either go to the miscellaneous section, or quick jump to them here.

Also, old time friend and band photographer marty lyon now has his own web site up. He just filmed our last gig in long beach (some of this footage should appear on the site soon, some of his pics already do) and did the band photo for our still unreleased domestic version of "The Great One is Dead." He's selling prints of old Minutemen, fIREHOSE, and Sonic Youth pics that's he's shot for those of you that are interested.  His site is http://martinlyon.com. Go check it out.

No big deal, but a new web counter has been added to the index page, (jack brewer calls chris: "uh chris, the counter on our site is missing. chris: uh, i know jack, i'm working on it.) Our web host is supposed to supply them, but it looks like that part of the service is down right now.  Their counters seem to go bad eventually anyways. The only reason I mention any of this is that we have had nothing but bad luck with hit counters of any kind due to them either breaking, freezing, disappearing, or the company going out of business, etc.

Point being, we don't know at this point how many folks have even come to visit the site due to this. The old site went through three different counters, so we are not as lame with the hits as it appears. So now a new one begins. Come  visit us, or let us know who has bitchin, reliable counters. Why did this even get mentioned?  Check the previous posting, and come down to the gig!!

hey people. just so you know, all the photo galleries have been updated again. Check em' out here if you want. we did a couple gigs up in the bay area at the end of summer, just played pedro last weekend, and are going to do long beach this saturday with black flag alumnus chuck dukowski's "the chuck dukowski sextet" and former cohorts from carnage asada now delivering "george murillo's axis of evil," (november 15th).  thanks to everyone who has attended the gigs, they've been a lot of fun.

what the hell happened in pedro anyway?

9.24.03

One day on, and already some updates for the site. First, all the audio files have been re-encoded and should work. Check here for those, and let us know here if you are having any problems listening to them. There were problems in the past for mac users, but those old audio clips were some ancient real player files. The new ones are mp3s, and should work for anyone. Also, all the photo galleries have been updated if you're interested in that. Click here to go to those.  We still haven't decided on what we're going to put in the video section, so hang in there for a bit until we decide what to come up with. That's all for now. Hope everyone likes the look of the new site.

MAJOR SITE OVERHAUL!

Hello everyone. Well, if you've been here before, you can see that the entire site has gone under a complete (and much needed) overhaul! And if you haven't been here before, welcome!  A back up disk was misplaced, (and will probably reappear as soon as I don't need it) leaving the previous version of the site just a shadow of what it once was. In any event, it may have been for the best, because it forced this new version to exist, and hopefully it will only get better from here on out.

So as far as Saccharine Trust goes, here's what's been going down:

Of course we have been doing some gigs (the Knitting Factory in Hollywood and a recent road trip for a couple gigs in San Francisco and Oakland with The Wedding's Off).  We have also been writing new songs for what will eventually become our next album, one song at a time as it goes. Here are some of the new(er) titles that you may or may not have heard us play in the recent past:

WHAT IDIOTS DREAM
THE PATCH CREW
HAT AND BEARD (a reworked version of the Eric Dolphy tune)
ON YOUR BEHALF

(and one other that Jack can't find a title for )

There are also a couple more in the works which haven't been performed quite yet.

For those of you curious about how to order our last album "The Great One is Dead", check out these links below:

Until we have a domestic version of this album, this is the best way to get it. There will be more news regarding this in the near future.
So that's it for now, please check back often for the latest updates. (This site will be expanding more frequently than it used to).
